Background
The PortML Alliance is an informal gathering of like-minded organizations (research institutes, port operators, businesses, solutions provider and academia etc) that aims to contribute to the creation, ratification and adoption of the PortML standards.
The PortML Alliance will comprise of a few partner organisations and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) in the initial phase. The alliance will expand outwards to encompass port & maritime companies and government authorities subsequently.
The PortML Alliance will propose the collectively developed and mutually validated PortML standards to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), International Standardisation Organization (ISO) and the United Nations (UN), to be adopted as new international port and maritime machine language standards. As the alliance acquires critical mass, the initial informal alliance will transform into a formal Global PortML Alliance with C4NGP remaining as the core leader of the alliance.
