The Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) will be bringing the tenth edition of the SMI Forum virtually to your computer or mobile on Thursday, 22 October 2020.
The SMI Forum is SMI’s flagship event following a series of popular webinars which served to bridge the gap between the maritime research community and industry. The SMI Forum highlights the critical role of R&D excellence and acknowledges the invaluable contributions by the maritime research community towards the transformation of Maritime Singapore.
Themed ‘Future of Port and Shipping’, this year’s SMI Forum will be held over two online sessions.
The first session on ‘Future of Port’ will discuss the potential of research and innovation in future proofing the next generation ports through automation and smart technology.
The second session, which focuses on ‘Future of Shipping’, aims to explore the ocean of possibilities through research and technology as the maritime industry enters a new era of autonomous & sustainable shipping.
The key highlights of the SMI Forum 2020 programme include announcements and launch of new research initiatives, presentations from prominent figures of the maritime industry, and panel discussions which will delve into the R&D priorities for the future of port and shipping.
